2005-06-03 - 12:12 p.m. i'm so fucking tired of all this unsynthesized knowledge that gets circulated around the school and from there circulated into society and from there circulated into the stream of national consciousness. and this shit isn't just from the things that they teach you directly in school, it's also from just the whole school atmoshpere and how that effects what happens outside of school. i'm listening to my yearbook teacher right now give this squeaky little freshman girl a biology lesson. "which one of these pictures do you think is showing fossil fuel...yep. so make arrows going that way to show how the fossil fuel is converted into carbon monoxide and released back into the atmosphere". there ya go, just enough information to fill in this worksheet. what is the significance of fossil fuels being converted into carbon monoxide and released into the environment? it means that i put it here on the worksheet and make the arrows go this way, that is the significance. you'll forget it by tomorow, you'll go have a conversation with your friends about how cars are bad for the environment and probably not even know that fossil fuel is converted into carbon monoxide and released back into the atmosphere. or maybe you'll still remember that information 10 years from now, while you're driving your hummer or your stationwagon down to LA for the 50 cent show and wondering why the air there makes your eyes hurt, you'll here someone mention fossil fuels and think "fossil fuels? oh yeah, that's that shit that gets converted into carbon monoxide and released back into the atmosphere. speaking of atmosphere, i bet there's gonna be a pretty good party atmosphere at this fiddy cent show, maybe i'll meet a hot gansta, we can bang in his cadillac". well, that's public school for you. that's what these institutions are realeasing into the environment. one of the main problems is that all these kids, they fucking hate school. if i ask any person in this room if they like school i doubt i would get a single positive answer. not a single one. and i bet that if the teacher were to answer me honestly i wouldn't get much positivity there either. and i fucking know for sure i wouldn't get any positivity from the motherfucking principal, she came into this class yesterday and fucking bitched us all out about how much she hated school. she didn't say it in thoes direct words either, she said it in much more negative words than that. this is our fucking principal. this is the fucking head of the school. this is every student's role model. i don't mean role model in the sense that the students are going to model thier lives in the image of the principal, i mean role model in the sense that she sets an example for everyone in the school that they can choose to follow or rebel against or ignore or whatever, it's still there. and for her to give such a powerful message that she hates the school... how can we expect kids to like school when the principal fucking hates it? and there's another problem right there, i don't think that very many people actually do expect kids to like school. school is just a fucking job, something you gotta do, something you gotta twiddle your thumbs through until it's over, and your reward at the end is that you are all nice and prepared to get paid to do something you gotta do, something you twiddle your thumbs through until it's over, but now it's only over at the end of the day and you go back again the next morning and you're stuck here for the hwole rest of your fucking life, you gotta keep that job so that you have enough money for a family that you gotta twiddle your thumbs through, take them to nice restaurants and nice houses and nice cars that you twiddle your thumbs through and pretend that you like them. of course you like that nice car, you paid X amount of money for it, and you worked X amount of time at your thumb twiddling job for it, and you went through 12 thumb twiddling years of school so that you could get that job, and your mom raised you while twidling her thumbs and teaching you how to twiddle yours so that you could go to school, and it gets to where your whole birth was aimed at that nice car. if you get a crappy car, then your birth was worthless, which of course means that you don't love your mother. i wonder how many other people in this motherfucking class see what i'm seeing here. and out of all the ones who don't, i wonder how many of them can put up a strong, righteous, honest, meaningful, analytical arguement against me. if learning "fosil fuels are converted into carbon monoxide and released back into the environment" dosn't teach you how to see these things, then there is no fucking purpose to learning it. so, well, this is where we are, where do we go from here?
